I am particularly enthusiastic about the Dresden spirit, the irrepressible will of my colleagues and the desire to work together on interdisciplinary research issues across disciplinary and institutional boundaries. I have never experienced this anywhere else. Dresden is one of the few locations in Europe that combines an excellent technical university and an outstanding university hospital with an excellent infrastructure in addition to the non-university research facilities - ideal for my research in the field of computer- and robot-assisted surgery.
