My Position/Profession/Field of Study
Section Head Diptera/Entomologist/Biology
Being an entomologist (specialised in Diptera) and a Natural History enthusiast, for many years I have been aware of Germany's historical leading role in Natural History Collections, and in safekeeping the invaluable knowledge of world biodiversity. I also knew that the Senckenberg Institute holds one of the largest entomological collections in Europe. So having the opportunity to work in Germany was always very appealing to me. Having joined the Senckenberg Naturhistorische Sammlungen Dresden, where I will develop a research line on Historical DNA on Diptera, is a major step in my career.
