The science state of Saxony has a very good mix of different players: Universities and basic research-oriented institutes, universities of applied sciences and application-oriented institutes as well as many agile and innovative companies that are open to new ideas. Complemented by agencies and associations for networking and supporting the economy, there is an optimal ecosystem for achieving a lot of new things in a small geographical area. The universities of applied sciences in particular make a decisive contribution to the innovative capacity of the economy, as their teaching and research is very strongly orientated towards the needs of the economy and they are in constant contact with external players. In order to make this transfer even more sustainable, the five Saxon universities of applied sciences have joined forces in the Saxony5 joint project. It is fun to work in this environment and to be able to play an active role in finding solutions to current challenges.
