What inspires me about Saxony as a scientific state is that a great deal of expertise is pooled here. Leipzig is a hotspot for cloud research. In addition to traditional atmospheric research at TROPOS and the university, there are also strong social sciences at the UFZ and broad biodiversity research at iDiv. This gives us a unique opportunity to understand the connections between global change and the biodiversity and climate crisis from an interdisciplinary perspective. Also important: reliable and comprehensive childcare, as is possible in Saxony, is essential for my research.
