I am studying Western Slavic Studies (Bohemian and Polish Studies) at the University of Leipzig. Thanks to the geographical proximity to Poland and the Czech Republic and good networking, I can work directly on my language skills and engage in direct cultural exchange. The Institute of Slavic Studies has partnerships with the universities in Prague and Wroclaw, where I was able to spend an Erasmus semester each. I also gain further exciting insights from institutions such as the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO), the Polish Institute and the Aleksander Brückner Center for Polish Studies in Halle, as well as trinational cultural events such as theater and film festivals, which take place in the region around the border triangle and always offer space for exciting encounters and discussions.
