Dresden offers an ideal setting for research into the ageing process. The study on the axolotl, an animal that combines extreme regenerative abilities with healthy ageing, promises unique insights. The Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) provides special resources, including an extensive axolotl colony, access to state-of-the-art genomic technologies and a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative scientific environment. This creates an atmosphere in which, together with brilliant colleagues in the Yun group, we can address groundbreaking questions that resonate with aging research.
