As the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology (FEP) and a professor of coating technologies for electronics at the Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden), I am enthusiastic about the scientific landscape in Saxony. The Free State, and Dresden in particular, provide a scientifically excellent environment that allows me the opportunity to advance innovative technologies in collaboration with students and colleagues at Fraunhofer FEP, promoting interdisciplinary research. At the Fraunhofer location in Dresden, I have a fantastic team of employees who have welcomed me with open arms, and together, we aim to achieve great things. Outside of work, I am passionate about cycling in the Dresden region and the Saxon Switzerland. For a balance to my profession, the surroundings with their beautiful landscapes offer ideal cycling routes to be physically active in nature. I am very pleased to have been part of the scientific landscape in Saxony for the past 2 years – an ideal foundation for professional and personal goals.
