My Institution
Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau – University of Applied Science
My Position/Profession/Field of Study
Professor of Traffic Control and Transportation Infrastructure
The West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) is one of the most research-intensive universities of applied sciences in the entire federal territory. Under the term "Mobility," the Faculty of Automotive Engineering conducts teaching and research activities in the fields of traffic system technology, automotive engineering, and energy technology. The research projects connect the departments in the fields of traffic system planning, traffic system technology, mobility security, automated driving, and the All Electric Society. The collaboration with industrial partners and infrastructure operators in the region always results in exciting projects and initiatives in which I am very happy to participate. The short distances at the university as well as the openness of colleagues enable rapid contact, intense exchange, and, furthermore, interdisciplinary teaching and research projects. I highly appreciate this aspect of the university. Long Night of Technology, Student Labs, Children's University, Taster Studies, Girls' Day are the formats that are very close to my heart at the university. Through these events, interest in STEM studies is aroused and the presence of the university in the region is increased. As a traffic engineer, it is particularly important for me to recruit and train professionals who will develop and build future mobility concepts. Saxony in general, and WHZ in particular, offer good foundations and conditions for this.
