Being a research assistent in German Medieval Studies, I aim to explore the potential of pre-modern literature with students. Deciphering manuscripts and incunabula, reading, interpreting, and discussing seemingly familiar as well as entirely unknown texts, tracing word histories, and discovering linguistic wit - all of this holds an enduring allure for me, and it's something I'm eager to impart to my students. The modern university library, local museums, and the small seminar groups in Chemnitz create ideal conditions for this 'joyful science'
